Nashville overturned Star Troy Shafer died of an accidental drug overdose.
According to the Erie County Coroner's Office, the death of television personality DIY on April 28 at the age of 38 was "due to combined drug toxicity," according to many media reports. The specific drugs in his system have not been made public yet.

Shafer moved to Tennessee in 2005 to become a country music singer and began restoring homes in 2009 when he struggled to find a stable job. He then started his own local home improvement company, Nashville Flipped, which led to his exhibition on property repair in Tennessee with his wife, Becky, who debuted in 2016. It lasted two seasons .
The DIY network called Shafer "a passionate and enthusiastic business leader and restaurant expert who was admired by everyone who worked on the show".
Shafer's brother told TMZ that he had died asleep at their father's home in Erie, Pennsylvania. He had no known medical problem and his death had been a shock to his family. (His death follows recent reports that the fatal overdoses were at a four-year low in Erie County.)
Shafer's obituary notes that his parents, brother and niece survived him, along with his precious pets, a cat (Marlow) and two dogs (Theo and Frankie). His wife Becky was not mentioned in this article.
