A St. Louis judge ruled on Tuesday that non-staff doctors at the city's family planning clinic did not have to submit to subpoenas at Wednesday's hearing on whether Missouri's health officials could force the state's only abortion clinic to close.
The Missouri Department of Health refused to renew the clinic's abortion license last week, saying the inspectors had found dangerous health breaches, including "unsuccessful abortions" and legal infractions such as avoidance of pelvic examinations imposed by the state.

Planned Parenthood has applied for a temporary restraining order to keep the clinic open and Judge Michael Stelzer of the St. Louis Circuit decided Friday that abortions could continue until the end of the year. Wednesday's hearing.
Planned Parenthood claimed that it complied with state requirements, even agreeing to remove trainees from abortion procedures performed at the clinic. A patient who did not want to give her full family name told Fox News that she was going to the St. Louis clinic for birth control and was opposed to the new law, which prohibits Abortion after eight weeks.

Mary Syron, one of the pro-life activists gathered outside the clinic, told Fox News that she does not understand why the focus is always on the mother and her not on the innocent fetus.

"Many states are retreating because their citizens demand it," Syron said.
If the St. Louis Family Planning Clinic is closed, Missouri would be the first state for more than 45 years without a single abortion clinic, although it is located in Granite City, in the United States. Illinois, less than 10 miles from the St. Louis facility. Another Kansas City area clinic is located in Overland Park, Kansas, just three kilometers from the state border.
