3. Give me the boot
Jamie Gillan had a good afternoon of punting, dropping some shots in the 5 with a perfect rebound for the descent. He also launched some rockets into the stratosphere with his left foot, prompting mild reactions from the media.
Britton Colquitt is a veteran bettor with excellent talent for directional kicks (and has spent most of his time holding for kicks), while Gillan brings the big leg that provides the dizzying heights we've seen on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how Gillan, equipped with a knuckleball shooting kick, pushes the veteran during the camp. This certainly gave rise to some entertaining throws on Tuesday.
Perhaps more importantly is the kicking competition between Greg Joseph and Austin Seibert. Everyone had the chance to score a goal in the field at a considerable distance, and everyone was successful. Joseph rubbed against the inside of the left post, while Seibert was jogging and quickly drilled a 48-yard distance with the help of a light breeze. Nothing but positive aspects to report here, while the Browns are trying to consolidate their situation.
4. The defense will shine in August
It's hard to get a good idea of how this defense will play because without pads, they are naturally forced to slow down near the touch points. The physical game can not blossom anywhere in these circumstances, and twice, they would have shone if the electrodes had been lit. It also extends to offensive and defensive lines, which we have already pointed out.
But in the meantime, we can begin to see how things could work. Mayfield had the time at least once to dance before throwing a pass well after the famous "internal clock" expired. Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon do not do anything but fight in hand, but high school has a lot of work. Jermaine Whitehead is still running with those, and Williams has broken more Tuesday than in the OTAs. Eric Murray also did a good job closing any space for a receiver on the rear corner tower, which resulted in an error.
Above all, hunger and fire are at the rendezvous of this defense. The training camp will be heated.
