Apple abandons the iTunes Store and removes all your purchases, it's a beautiful story, but it's an unfounded and deliberate fear.

Today, you can open iTunes on your Mac and listen to music, movies, TV, and more. You can also download and buy more, and later you can download it again if you wish.

You can of course always buy songs in the new Music application.

Tomorrow, or when you move to macOS Catalina, the only thing that will make a difference will be that you open a different application and the files are in a slightly different location.

You're going to open new music, podcasts or TV apps and that's it. Continue exactly as you did and continue to buy, rent or stream new media.

Valid concerns

We do not know everything about how macOS Catalina works with these applications, even though we really know that there are few details we expect.

We are also curious to know what Apple will do after that. The company is constantly talking about this trio of Mac applications (music, podcasts and television), but there is already a Books application in which you imagine audio books would go very well.

Then, the TV app is about video. But here, Apple does not make a confusing simplification, not completely. Today, worldwide, film and television awards committees are striving to define the difference, now that Netflix achieves unique series that it may or may not screen in cinemas. .

Nevertheless, it will take us some time to get used to the new applications and everything we have. Speaking of which, however, if you usually look in your iTunes media folder in the Finder, as we mentioned above, you will simply look for a different name.

Yet, all we have will always be there and it will be mostly exactly the place you expect. The new Music app will be especially welcome because it looks a lot like the Music app on iOS, for example.

And if you're in the habit of watching movies on an Apple TV, the newly redesigned TV app will also seem familiar to you.

You will still be able to watch all the movies you have purchased previously. By the way, there are movies that are not Star Trek and that you can buy them in the TV app

And arouse fear in the people they spend money on for digital items that are going to be deleted is simply wrong.

In addition, the sharing of Apple's home has not gone either. This has just been moved in macOS Catalina. Instead of being in iTunes, it's now a checkbox in the Sharing preferences pane. And, the "Computers" application is still in tvOS 13.
