SeaWorld's last round closes due to mechanical problems weeks after opening

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – The newest SeaWorld ride in San Diego is closed for maintenance, according to the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

According to the agency, Tidal Twister was shut down on June 1st, about two weeks after it opened on May 24th.

The trip was stopped to solve mechanical problems. Cal / OSHA reports that SeaWorld is working with the manufacturer to repair the ride.

Once the route is ready to reopen, Cal / OSHA will need to perform an inspection to ensure that it can be used safely.

The carousel recently opened as SeaWorld strives to complete more rides in San Diego Park.

SeaWorld sent the following statement to 10News on Tuesday:

Tidal Twister has encountered an operational problem for which we are working with the manufacturer to make it operational as quickly as possible. Nobody was hurt. The safety of our guests and members of the team is our top priority.
