BOISE, Idaho – CBD's legal status in Idaho is at best cloudy – CBD products must contain zero percent THC, the compound found in marijuana that creates a high rate of consumption, but no state or organism Federal only responsible for vetting these products.
On May 28, Treasure Valley's first CBD store opened at Boise Towne Square, selling CBD products ranging from jelly candies to pet oils. However, this booth will no longer be at the mall much longer.
Shop owners say they see significant demand for their CBD products and have received a warm welcome so far.
"We have only been open since Tuesday, we had a lot more volume than expected, it soon became clear that our basket was too big," said Justin Long, co-owner of Golden Nugget CBD.
The wide variety of products claims to treat an even wider range of diseases, including pain, anxiety, insomnia.

Shop co-owners Justin and Jennifer Long say that customers have many questions about the supposed effects of the CBD, but this is the most common way to sell them in Idaho.
In Idaho, CBD products are legal because they claim that there is zero percent THC. These requests are not verified due to lack of oversight by a government agency.
"There is a bit of division in our industry, the CBD industry," said Justin Long. "We are about to provide guaranteed products tested by third parties."
Justin and Jennifer Long say that they are taking additional steps to comply with Idaho's law by only selling products from companies trusting outside labs to test the content of their products.
"This is a very great laboratory where these very expensive, state-sanctioned, licensed, and licensed facilities take place," he said.
Test results and production information are available to customers on the stands if they have any questions.
But customers will no longer see this CBD booth at Boise Towne Square. Jennifer and Justin Long say that they were so overwhelmed by customers that they closed the tribune on Saturday and settled in a storefront in Meridian that will open next week.
