CLEVELAND, Ohio – Duke Johnson's day at Brown's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday can be summed up in three quotes:
Here is Johnson if his commercial demand of this last season is still valid:
"I want to be somewhere where I'm wanted. I think that in the end, all it's all about is wanting to be somewhere where you are. … nothing has changed. The only difference between last week and this week is that it is mandatory and that I am there.
This is Baker Mayfield on Johnson's commercial request:
"You are on this train or you are not there. It's moving. You can get out of the way or you can join us. That's what it is. "
And finally, here is Freddie Kitchens on the same subject:
"Well, I'll tell you right now – he's under contract."

Johnson spoke for the first time since his request for an exchange was reported.
Johnson participated in practice Tuesday after skipping all OTAs. Like Odell Beckham Jr. (who missed all but one test), Johnson worked sparingly during team exercises.
But the Browns already know what the fifth-year defender can do. He is one of the most prolific defenders of the NFL. His 61 catches in 2015 were second by a Browns rookie. His 74 catches in 2017 set the team record for the halfbacks. He was the first running back for more than 500 yards in each of his first three seasons in 30 years.
The arrival of Jarvis Landry and the emergence of Antonio Callaway, Rashard Higgins and David Njoku last season got the better of Johnson's statistics. His 47 shots and 62 targets were the lowest of his career. The same is true for his carries (40) and his yards on the ground (201), although his yards per race (5.0) represent a career high.
The addition of Kareem Hunt to this off season indicates that Johnson's numbers are likely to continue to decline.
But Johnson said Tuesday that Hunt's signature did not spark his demand for an exchange. That was the word that he was on the trading block before Hunt arrived.
The kitchens repeated what he said throughout the off season, namely that the Browns have a role to play for Johnson in the offense. But after Tuesday, it seems that Johnson is no longer interested in knowing what it is.
Should the Browns exchange it? If yes, when? Before the season, or closer to the trading deadline and Hunt's return from the suspension? Or should they make him honor his contract and deal with it after the season (Johnson is under contract until 2021).
