So – is this thing Actually event? Here's what we know so far:
Ok, what is this so-called "Straight Pride Parade"?
The news of the event seems to come from a tweet this week from Carolyn Ryan, deputy editor of the New York Times.
On Tuesday morning, Ryan shared a screenshot of a Facebook message posted by one of the organizers of the proposed event, detailing the parade route and claiming that the city "is working" now with us on the parade ".
"Parade" Straight Pride "planned in Boston. With floats, tweeted Ryan.
According to Facebook's ad screen capture, the so-called Straight Pride Parade would take place on Aug. 31 – an ideal day-out for returning students, remember – and Follow the same route as the city. LGBTQ Pride Parade taking place in Boston this weekend.
The event celebrating heterosexuality would include tanks and other props and would be "an opportunity to hold a patriotic parade in Boston as we celebrate our pride," said one of the organizers.
Who is behind the project to organize the Straight Pride Parade?
Mark Sahady is one of the main organizers who are fighting for the parade. If this name seems familiar to you, it's because he's the same person from the controversial Resist Marxism group, who hosted the Rally for the Republic on the Boston Common in 2017, which has attracted swarms of counter-promoters.
Sahady announced last week on Facebook that it appeared the proposed parade was "coming," but his ad did not have much success on social media until Tuesday.
A group called Super Happy Fun America – of which Sahady is apparently the vice president – is in charge of the parade's plans.
In a section of the band's website on the proposed parade, organizers say the one-day event "will aim to foster inclusion and raise awareness of the issues affecting straight lines in Greater Boston and beyond".
The Globe contacted Sahady, but he did not immediately return a request for comment. An email sent to a Sahady address, listed on the group's website, was returned.
However, John Hugo, who presents himself as president of Super Happy Fun America, said in Boston this week that he was simply fighting for "tolerance of all".
"There is a" gay this "and a" trans it, "said Hugo, Republican Republican for the Fifth Congressional District in November, but lost to Democratic President Katherine Clark. "How is a parade of" straight pride "so shocking?"
Where is the city on the question?
According to officials from Mayor Martin J. Walsh's office, the planning group for the "Straight Pride" parade has been in contact with the city.
Despite some people claim online that it is "official", the organizers have not yet received the necessary authorizations to organize such an event, declared the city.
As for Walsh, he did not directly approach the parade, but instead issued a statement on Tuesday about the annual parade and Pride Week celebrations.
"Every year, Boston hosts its annual Pride Week, where our city meets to celebrate the diversity, strength and acceptance of our LGBTQ community," said Walsh. "It's a special week that represents Boston's values of love and inclusion, which are unwavering. I encourage everyone to join us in celebrating this Saturday the parade of pride and the struggle for progress and equality for all. "
The Globe asked the city for a copy of the group's permit application, but did not immediately receive a copy of the document.
What do we say about the Straight Pride Parade?
The idea of a parade of people walking the streets of Boston to celebrate the fact of being straight trigger an avalanche of jokes online that the national media have taken over the proposal.
Tuesday night everyone from George Takei to the US representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, spoke about it, with many making light what would a parade of right pride look like if it happened?
"Will 'Straight Pride' be a Freaky Friday-like situation where all of our history books, movies, stories, media, news, etc., primarily feature LGBTQ + people and perspectives? Will people have to go out like rounds ?, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. "In what would people walk? Socks with sandals? A dad in jeans?
Others posted a language and cheek parade who would lead the group into the harbor – instead of crossing the Boston neighborhoods – or stressed that every day is essentially Straight Pride Day.
In addition, the rock band Smash Mouth of the late 90s even had a catch on the plane. The group released Tuesday on Twitter a statement in which it garnered praise for its generous use of exclamation points and a bit of blasphemy.
Will "Straight Pride" be a Freaky Friday-like situation where all of our history books, movies, stories, media, news, etc., primarily feature LGBTQ + people and perspectives?
Will people have to go out like straight guys?

They plan to hold a "Straight Pride" parade in Boston, presumably to commemorate this historic moment when brave heterosexual brethren finally stood up against the homosexual police who had been harassing and arresting them for decades.

Wow! Cool initiative, guys !! Just a thought, instead of the "Straight Pride" parade, what would you say to this: "The defender desperately trying to bury his own gay thoughts by being homophobic, because no one has taught us how to access our emotions as children "? What do you think? Too much on the nose ?? https://t.co/gaBWtq2PaL

"Absolute pride" is the last thing to celebrate as beautiful members of the LGBTQIA + community lose their lives because of the people they love and the way they love them.
