Georgia Clark told the school board that she thought the tweets were private
A Texas school district fired a high school teacher who tweeted to US President Donald Trump asking for help to report illegal immigrant students.
On May 17, Georgia Clark, an English teacher in Fort Worth, complained about "illegal students from Mexico," adding, "I need protection from recriminations".
She told school officials that she "had not realized that the tweets were public," school officials wrote in a report.
Clark was fired Tuesday but has 15 days to appeal the decision.
What exactly did she write?
The tweets, under her Twitter account @ Rebecca193939 now deleted, began about three weeks ago when she described the school district as "laden with illegal students from Mexico" and suggested that there should be someone there. One to the school "which should actively investigate the elimination of illegal immigrants in the public school system".
"Anything you can do to eliminate the illegals from Fort Worth would be greatly appreciated," she writes in a separate tweet.
Ms. Clark added that she needed assurances as to the confidentiality of her identity once action had been taken: "Texas will not protect whistleblowers, Mexicans will not honor our flag."
But in another tweet, she posted her two phone numbers, adding, "Georgia Clark is my real name."
What was the reaction?
Tuesday evening, the board of directors of Fort Worth Independent School of Trustees voted unanimously to terminate his contract after several immigrants and immigrant rights groups addressed the committee to condemn his actions.
At the meeting, 15 people voiced their support for his dismissal, according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Ms. Clark was not present at the meeting.
The Immigrant Advocacy Group United Fort Worth has criticized Ms. Clark as a "teacher" who wants to turn classrooms into eviction zones.
In a statement after the vote, Superintendent Kent Scribner congratulated the Board of Directors for its "strong record of student support and research for success, college, career and community leadership" .
"Fort Worth serves 86,000 students and our goal is to treat each of them with dignity and respect and, based on the information we have, we believe it is the most responsible recommendation to Current time. "

A Facebook group called Fort Worth Republican Women, defended the teacher and lashed out at officials who they said violated her constitutional right to freedom of expression.
"Have students been offended by a teacher who has asked President Donald J Trump to enforce the law so that she is disciplined?" the group wrote.
"Would it be the same if another teacher supported illegal immigration?"
In 1982, the United States Supreme Court ruled that public schools are required to teach children, regardless of their immigrant status.
Schools are prohibited from asking parents for their immigration status or reporting family members to the authorities.
