Cyrus turned into a new purple-haired pop star for an episode of Netflix's new season Black mirror, entitled "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too." Ashley O is a wise singer who broadcasts messages such as "believe in yourself!" and "be what you want to be!" and she is also secretly controlled by her aunt / avid manager.
When that greed gets out of control, there are only two teenage girls left and one doll carrying Ashley's consciousness to save the pop star from a hologram fate, and if that seems to be the plot of the day. an original Disney Channel movie, you're not totally wrong.
In fact, if it had been shown on Disney Channel, our only confusion would have been, "Uh, I did not know you could say F on Disney Channel!" (All this is a compliment.) The DCOMs are excellent.
creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones have recently talked about this episode in several interviews, and Cyrus herself did a short interview with The Guardian explaining why she signed and how close she felt to her real experiences.
