While his June 12 concerts have been postponed, Wilson still has to hit the road with the Zombies to participate in the North American tour "Something Great from'68" which begins August 31 in Las Vegas and will be held at the Beacon Theater on September 26th.

Below, Wilson's complete and unedited letter:

Dear friends,

It is with deep regret that I have to postpone my next tour in June.

It is no secret that I have lived with a mental illness for several decades. At times, it was unbearable, but thanks to the doctors and the drugs, I was able to lead a wonderful, healthy and productive life with the support of my family, my friends and my fans who m & # 39; 39 have helped throughout this trip.

As you may know in the past year, I had 3 surgeries on my back. The surgeries have been successful and I am physically stronger than I have been in a long time.

However, after my last surgery, I started to feel strange and it was very scary for a moment. I did not feel like me. Mentally insecure, that's how I would describe it. We're not sure what's causing it, but I know it's not good for me to be on the road right now, so I'm going back to Los Angeles.

I had the intention to do these concerts and I was looking forward to playing again. I recorded and rehearsed in studio with my band and I felt better. But it was then that I had trouble thinking about things I did not want to say and I do not know why. It's something I've never dealt with before and we can not understand it yet.

I will rest, recover and work with my doctors on this.

I can not wait to get back and see everyone later in the year.

The music and my fans are moving me forward and I know it will be something that I can still overcome.

Love and Mercy,
Brian Wilson
