Manchester United has accepted a contract to engage Swansea wingman Daniel James.

The 21-year-old will move to Old Trafford for a fee of around £ 15 million, up to £ 22 million, which will make Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his first signing of the summer.

"Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has accepted, in principle, the terms of the agreement between Swansea City and Daniel James for its transfer to the club," United said.

"Daniel has successfully passed a medical examination at the Aon Training Complex and further details will be provided as soon as the international transfer window opens next week."

James was about to move to Leeds United in January before Swansea got involved at the last minute.

Leeds was hoping to be able to restart the deal this summer just for United to join them, as well as Everton and Newcastle, for the Welsh international.

James, who had only 12 months left in his contract, scored five goals in 37 games for Swansea last season, while the Welsh finished tenth in the championship.

He made his Wales debut under the previous United United winger, Ryan Giggs, against Albania last year. He scored his first international goal by beating Slovakia 1-0 in March.
