So many new friends!
By Adam Bankhurst
Nintendo has unveiled five new friends during the E3 2019 – Link of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Incineroar, Dark Samus, Chrom and Richter from the Super Smash Bros. series.
In addition to these new amiibo, Nintendo has also announced release windows for Squirtle, Ivysaur, Solid Snake and Simon Belmont of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- September 20, 2019: Link – The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Solid Snake
- November 2019 – Incineroar, Chrom, Simon Belmont
- 2020 – Dark Samus, Richter
This new link is obviously inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Nintendo Switch, which will also be launched the same day as the amiibo – September 20, 2019.
In addition, he will add a ghost link to the player's dungeons in Link's Awakening, which will earn the player several rupees if he can be defeated. Be careful though, as Shadow Link will chase you from room to room.
In Nintendo's E3 2019 Direct, they also announced that The Hero of Dragon Quest and Banjo-Kazooie would join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Given the Nintendo roadmap, it would be safe to think that we will have a friend of these new interesting additions to the Ultimate Smash list.
This was not the only news from Zelda in the Direct, however, since Nintendo has confirmed that the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is under development.
