The details surrounding the sudden death of "grandmother" Mary Duggar are revealed.

Mary, who has often appeared alongside her family on "19 Kids & Counting" and "Counting On" shows, died after an accidental drowning in a pool on Sunday, the Washington County coroner confirmed in the United States. Roger Morris, today.

"It seems like she has slipped and fallen into the pool," Morris said, adding that the accident had occurred at Mary's home in Springdale, Arkansas, the June 9th. She was 78 years old.

Jill Duggar Dillard, the fourth of 19 children of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, revealed the news of Mary Duggar's death Sunday on Instagram in a moving tribute, writing: "My heart is broken … Grandma, all those who knew you miss us!

In an article published Monday on his blog, Dillard added, "I was skeptical when I learned that she was tragically dead.I still have trouble understanding the reality of her death."

Jana Duggar, the eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle, revealed that "grandmother" Mary had gone to church a few hours before her death.

"On her last morning spent here on earth, I took my grandmother to church where she revered her Savior," she wrote on Instagram on Monday. "Later in the afternoon, she went to meet her face to face! I would say that's probably how she would have chosen to finish the day if she had to choose."

The Duggars commemorated Sunday the matriarch of their family on their official Facebook page, writing: "She is very beloved and we will miss her a lot!"

"We are so sad to share that grandmother Duggar (Mary) passed away Sunday afternoon," the message began. "She has led an extraordinary life as a follower of Christ, wife, devoted mother, loving mother-in-law and beloved grandmother."

The article concluded in these terms: "We deeply appreciate your prayers for our family and for all who loved Mary during this time."

"Grandmother" Mary, who worked as a real estate broker, is survived by her son Jim Bob and daughter Deanna, 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and many more are on the way.

Recently, Jessa and Ben Seewald welcomed their third child, their daughter Ivy Jane Seewald, on May 26th to their home in Arkansas. Ivy scored the 13th great-grandson of "Grandma" Mary.

Jessa is the fifth child of Jim Bob and Michelle.

"She was so excited about the many new great-grandchildren of the fall and winter to come, and it never aged, she welcomed every new baby with joy and held it with so much tenderness and pleasure, "Jessa said on an Instagram photo.
