DeMarcus Cousins has had a roller coaster ride in the past two seasons. After signing with the Golden State Warriors and rehabilitating much of last season of a ripped Achilles, Cousins returned only to suffer a quad injury in the playoffs. He was able to return for the NBA finals, but his value was a great success when he entered a free agency.
After waiting a bit, Cousins found his new home. The cousins agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers to join LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
While he ended up signing with the Lakers, another team was very interested in signing. Wojnarowski reported that the team was the Miami Heat.
The Miami Heat was interested in the Cousins, but several Lakers players – including Anthony Davis – convinced him of his LA membership, ESPN told sources close to the league. https://t.co/U2fgWbb8PL

Pat Riley and his company were hoping that Cousins would play alongside Jimmy Butler, who had just been acquired. Unfortunately, the draw against the Lakers was too hard to reach.
The cousins played 30 games with the Warriors in the regular season. He averaged 16.3 points per game, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 interceptions. In addition to these averages, the Cousins fired 48% of the field and 27.4% of the three-point line.
Miami would have been an intriguing landing place for the Cousins, but he wanted to play again with Davis after their stint with the New Orleans Pelicans.
It will be interesting to see how Cousins will recover from his injury problems. Los Angeles will have his hands full this season, but adding Cousins is a big step if he can get back into shape.
