WarnerMedia, of AT & T, announced Tuesday that its new streaming service will be called HBO Max. As its name suggests, it understands much more than the content of HBO.
HBO Max will include programs and films by Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth and Looney Tunes. . It also includes the exclusive rights to broadcast the 236 episodes of the TV show "Friends".
The service should be launched in beta later this year. AT & T did not say how much it would cost. HBO Max will be launched publicly in the spring of 2020 and will include 10,000 hours of content, the company said.
Netflix recently spent $ 80 million to keep its "friends" until 2019, according to Vulture. Netflix will also lose "The Office" in 2021, when NBC will offer it as part of its streaming TV service at $ 10 a month. Both are considered to be among the most popular in Netflix, which means that the company will have to continue to fund new issues in order to find new success to retain its subscribers.
Other popular TV shows that join HBO Max include "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", "Pretty Little Liars" and "Batwoman". HBO Max will include original programming created specifically for the new streaming service, in addition to the programs that will be launched on HBO.
This service is just one of many new streaming products expected to be released in the coming months, and consumers are unlikely to be able to subscribe at all.
The $ 6.99 monthly Disney, Disney + package will be launched in November and will include 18 of 21 Pixar movies, Marvel movies, 30 seasons of "The Simpsons", Disney animated movies and the franchise of Star Wars movies. The NBC streaming service will be launched next year. Apple + will launch this fall.
