Mike Trout and Tommy La Stella both paid tribute to the late Tyler Skaggs by wearing his number 45 on their jersey during the all-star game at the Progressive course on Tuesday night.
Trout announced Sunday that he was planning to do something to honor Skaggs, who died at age 27.
Trout announced Sunday that he was planning to do something to honor Skaggs, who died at age 27 on July 1, and decided to don Skaggs number 45. The Stella, who can not play in the match because of a fractured right shin, joins Trout also wearing the number 45.

"We thought it would be a good way to show a bit of love and respect for Tyler," Trout told reporters at the Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register before the match. "It'll be fun for me, it'll be good for him, good for his family. And I know he's watching us tonight.
Trout, an eight-time All-Star and two-time All-Star player, also wore a No. 45 lapel pin on his suit to pay tribute to Skaggs at the All-Star Carpet Show on Tuesday morning.
