Tatis, a mid-season player, also drew the Padres with his .327 / .393 / .620 hit line, 14 homers and 33 RBIs. He has a 3.3 war with 117 fewer strokes than Alonso. Soroka, meanwhile, is 9-1 with an ERA 2.42 and a 2.7 to 15 war starts this year.
One name is missing from Odds Shark's list: Padres Pitcher Chris Paddack (5-4, 2.84 ERA), who infamously celebrated Alonso for winning the NL Rookie Trophy in April.
When the Mets and Padres were played in May, Alonso responded to Paddack: "If he was unhappy, I guess he could have been a little jealous … … he was crazy about that, five months ago. "
Maybe Paddack will face Alonso again at Citi Field when the Mets and Padres meet July 23-25 at Citi Field. And who knows? Maybe the future rookie of the year will play.
