The 2019 all-star game takes place on Tuesday night at Cleveland's Progressive course. It's the 90th Mid-Summer Classic and will close the star festivities after Sunday's Futures Game and Home Run Derby on Monday night. Justin Verlander of the Astros will start on the mound for the American League and will face Hyun-jin Ryu of the Dodgers for the National League.

Tuesday's game marks the first time since 2014 that a team from the American League is organizing a match of the stars. AL is in the all-time lead, beating NL 44-43 with two draws. Regarding the total points scored, the AL is leading this 369 category against 367. The AL player has won six consecutive all-star games and 10 of the last 13, this will be their seventh consecutive victory on Tuesday. The last win in Newfoundland was in 2012, 8-0 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
The Houston Astros have the highest number of stars of any team with six: George Springer, Alex Bregman, Michael Brantley, Justin Verlander, Ryan Pressly and Gerrit Cole. The All-Stars who will receive the biggest applause will be the Indians of their hometown, there are four: Francisco Lindor, scorer, the first baseman Carlos Santana (who also participated in the Home Run Derby), the reliever Brad Hand and starting pitcher Shane Bieber.
The edition of this year's game of stars has changed rule: if the game goes on in extra innings, the 10th inning (and up) will start with a runner on second base each time.
