A Maryland police officer who was videotaped forcing a teenager's head into a concrete sidewalk during an arrest was charged with assault, the Attorney General's office said on Tuesday. the state.

According to the court documents, Pesoa was spitting saliva and blood during the altercation and Moris threw him to the ground to "minimize officers' exposure to the body fluids of Pesoa".
McCarthy said that after the fight, the police had searched Pesoa and recovered the alleged drugs.
"What I see are officers who have made an arrest and struggle with the subject, and then I see the officer doing extracurricular activities as a result of the use of force. Pesoa has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, attempted distribution of a controlled substance, resistance to arrest and second degree assault.
