Are you sitting waiting for a Tesla Model S or Model X update before spending your hard-earned money on the high-end electric vehicle of your dreams? You might as well buy now because, according to Elon Musk himself, no updates or major updates have been provided to Tesla's high-end models. Cue the sad trombone.
In response to a tweet from last night, Musk answered the question of whether there would be an update at the horizon. "There is no Model X or Model S coming," said the CEO, "but a series of minor changes underway." Musk went on to say that there could be small updates over time, such as Model Engine Integration. 3 in S and X, but as just done recently, there is nothing in the pipeline.
There is no Model X or Model S "refreshed", only a series of minor changes in progress. The most important change in recent years has been to use the high efficiency rear drive unit model 3 as the front drive unit S / X. This went into production 3 months ago.

The Twitter user then asked if there would be any internal updates, as there would have been leaks when testing a new minimalist interior. Musk's answer was pretty straightforward.
"No."
No

Apart from the change of electric motor, which had the effect of improving the range, the only major update of the Model S was the removal of the grille from the front of the car. The X has not had any major changes. Although the automotive industry is updating more slowly than major technologies, most automakers would have considered a complete update at this stage.
It is not necessary to update for reasons of distance (the 370 km of the Model S are fantastic), but some parts of the car could be improved. The interior materials are suitable for semi-premium suburbs, but other cars at the price of the Model S have nicer places inside to spend your time. Most simply do not offer a 100% EV experience. Not yet anyway.
Although this should be good news for those looking to buy. By buying now before the federal tax credit disappears completely, the buyer will save a few dollars in the long run and customers will not have to worry about an update that makes their new car obsolete. It seems that Tesla is currently concentrating the bulk of its efforts on the upcoming Y model and its future products.
