Apple will finally release the HomePod in Japan this summer

The HomePod does not seem to have been a resounding sales success, but it's no use that you can only buy it in a handful of countries. However, Apple continues to deploy and has just announced its imminent arrival on one of the largest markets of the company: Japan.

As spotted by MacRumeurs, the HomePod page on Apple's website now says it will come to Japan "this summer". The shop page is also online. It shows the smart speaker at 32,800 yen ($ 301), which aligns it with Apple's recent price cut.

The HomePod was launched for the first time in February 2018 in only three countries: Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Canada, France and Germany had the speaker a few months later, followed by Mexico and Spain. The most recent international publication took place in China and Hong Kong in January. The product was announced more than two years ago at WWDC 2017.
