Former NFL player Albert Haynesworth visited Instagram on Wednesday to inform his supporters that doctors had told him he had "an urgent need" for a kidney transplant and asked for help to find a donor.
Haynesworth, who has been battling kidney disease for the last few years, said his kidney had fallen on Sunday. "It's hard to believe that I'm a professional athlete and that he has eight seasons in retirement, that my body is having another blow," he wrote next to a picture of him in action to bed a hospital bed by breathing with a respirator.

Haynesworth has played with four organizations for more than 10 years in the NFL. He played with the Titans of Tennessee for seven years. He retired in 2011 with 30.5 sacks, 347 tackles and 65 QB hits, reported NFL.com. He competed in two professional tournaments and was named to two first-team all-pro teams during his career.
