Apparently Mckenna Grace has a leader if not the leading role in Ghostbusters 2020, which would make sense if she is a mini Egon. But that's the speculation right now.
Jason Reitman co-wrote the screenplay for this film. He recently said he wants to make "a love letter for the original film". He also said that the character of a 12-year-old girl had simply fallen into his head, with a bunch of protons in the back. After photographing the girl, he saw his family and he knew the movie that he had to do.
OG Ghostbuster, Dan Aykroyd, explained how this movie was going to connect to the original. The surviving Ghostbusters should all come back – with Aykroyd joined by Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver saying she's also in the game.
On top of that, Paul Rudd is in the cast! Yes, Ant-Man himself will be in Ghostbusters 2020. I do not know what he's going to do, but I hope he'll be like Louis Tully's son or something of the sort.
There are many reasons to be excited for Ghostbusters 2020. We are waiting for more official details on the plot and the characters. Since the film begins to shoot, it should not be long before we get this type of information, and maybe more photos and – possibly – a trailer. The film's release is scheduled for July 10, 2020.
