GEORGETOWN, Texas (KTRK) – Amber Smith, the wife of country singer Granger Smith, recently explained how their 3-year-old son had saved the lives of two people.

The tragedy hit the couple in early June when they announced that their youngest child, River Kelly Smith, had died as a result of a sinking.

Over the weekend, Amber explained on Instagram how they decided to donate River's organs.

"I thought," How can we bury our sweet baby without trying to help others? ", She wrote on Instagram.

After making the decision and passing the tests, Amber said the family and hospital staff had lined up the hall for the "Walk of Honor".

"Granger and I stood and cried, and we received the letter that our little red headed hero gave birth to two adults, a 49-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man," she wrote.

In June, the couple shared how they found the light in the darkness of River.

"We are constantly looking for solutions that will bring good," Granger said in a video posted on the family's YouTube channel. "It's my commitment to the River Heritage."
