Halo Infinite, the next Halo game developed by 343 Industries for Xbox One, Windows 10 and the next-generation Scarlett Xbox console has lost its Creative Director. Tim Longo, a 22-year-old veteran of the 22-year-old video game industry and creative director for Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite, has left the developer of Halo, 343 Industries, revealed Kotaku yesterday.
According to the report, Longo had already changed jobs a few weeks ago at 343 Industries, but he has now decided to leave the company he had joined in May 2013.
Microsoft has confirmed the departure of Longo in a statement sent to Kotaku, adding that the changes of leaders of 343 Industries would not prevent the release of Halo Infinite in Holiday 2020. You can read the full Microsoft statement below:
The roles and responsibilities of the various team members evolve regularly to meet the needs of a game, throughout the development. We recently made two changes to the Halo Infinite development team. Our executive producer,
Mary Olson will now take over the Halo Infinite campaign team as lead producer. She will draw on her many years of experience from 343 to develop a great campaign for fans.
In addition, Tim Longo recently left our team and we are truly grateful for his many contributions to our games, our studio and the world of Halo. We wish Tim nothing the best in his future endeavors. The overall creative vision and production of the game remains under the direction of Chris Lee, head of Halo Infinite's studio.
We have a world-class team that builds Halo Infinite and the extremely enthusiastic response of the fans makes us more than ever to create the best Halo game to date, alongside the Scarlett Project for the 2020 vacation. no impact on the release date. for Halo Infinite.
Beyond the damage control discourse, it's hard to know what's really going on behind the scenes at 343 Industries. The gaming studio has a lot of pressure on their hands to offer a better game than Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, who have both disappointed fans of the Bungie Halo games. In addition, Halo: Infinite will be launched on three different platforms (Xbox One, Project Scarlett and Windows 10), which undoubtedly adds complexity to the development process.
We do not have many details on Halo: Infinite yet, except that it will introduce a new home engine called Slipspace. Microsoft chose to show a cinematic trailer of Halo Infinite at E3 2019, and we have not seen any gameplay footage yet.
Halo Infinite lose his creative director just a year before the release of the game is it worrying or do you trust 343 Industries to launch the best game Halo next year? Let us know in the comments below.
