The next game in its history, Telling Lies, finally gets a release date

Telling Lies, the video game tracking the creator of his story, Sam Barlow, finally has a release date. The new investigative thriller featuring real-life action actors will come on the PC, the Mac and the iOS App Store on August 23rd. Barlow's second live-action game after his award-winning mystery game, Her Story.

Telling Lies is located in a virtual laptop containing images of a stolen database from the NSA. Players interact with this laptop and discover the story of four people over a period of two years. The characters on which players will investigate are played by Hollywood actors such as Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Dark Phoenix) and Kerry Bishé (Halt and Catch Fire).

Players will analyze live action images, explore the database by typing search terms and view various clips to discover the story of these four people.

Her Story, Barlow's previous game, was a critically acclaimed mystery. IGN's Her Story magazine described the game as "deep and dark" and praised its fundamental mystery that prompted players to work for answers.
