Pre-season 2 is now behind us. The Steelers played their second game and this time, many more beginners players were born. Although they had more penalties accepted than their opponents, seeing the number of flags against the Steelers decrease from week 1 to week 2 is a good thing. In addition, I think most of us can agree that there should have been a penalty of less for some. The call for interference from the offensive pass on Diontae Johnson was flagrant to say the least. What is even more telling, is that if they do not reverse a missed call of this caliber, will they really reverse one of these challenges throughout the 2019 season?

Although some consider this statistic to be meaningless, it is important that the Steelers halve the number of first attempts. After dropping 31 in week 1, only dropping 17 in the second week looks like a feat. Coupled with the small number of points sold, this is a rather revealing statistic this time around.

When I set the goal that the Steelers keep the Chiefs within 400 yards, I thought they had very little chance of doing so. I thought if Kansas City had the lead, they could not push the ball as much on the court. But the Chiefs never led the match and the Steelers kept their lead at 315 yards.

Even in such a low case, the Steelers managed to put the ball in the ground goal zone this week. I felt that Jaylen Samuels had a good game at the same time in the race and in the pass protection before his 14-yard touchdown. The Steelers did the field work with 4.0 yards passing, or 124 yards in 31 carries.
