"Did you know that Quincke's edema can be caused by altitude sickness?" she wrote, accompanying a photo of her incredibly swollen lower lip. "My lip about to explode, goodbye world," she joked.
According to Mayo ClinicQuincke's edema is a form of deep tissue hives that can cause dramatic swelling, usually in soft tissue areas such as eyelids and mouth (or, you know, lips!). It is considered a sharp push if it lasts only a short time, ranging from a few minutes to a few days.
Fortunately, this seems to be what Teigen went through, because shortly after her posts on Twitter – and some hits of this sweet and sweet oxygen – the model turned back to her usual beautiful physique while she and her husband, John Legend, attended the wedding and recounted their adventures to lipstick on Teigen Instagram stories.
And now, we all know that perhaps we should not be so eager to know why the lips of some stars suddenly look two to three times larger than their normal size. Maybe they have taken an extremely awkward flight to attend a friend's big day and they are just as worried as us because their lips may explode.
