Microsoft is working to fix the error 0x80073701 in Windows 10

Microsoft is investigating a problem that has hit many users during the installation of the KB4512508 cumulative update for Windows 10 1903.

The people whose systems are affected by the problem complain that the updates are not installed and that the error 0x80073701 is displayed. This problem affects both Windows 10 and Windows Server 1903.

At the moment, the cause of the problem is not known and Microsoft is currently studying the possibility of solving this problem.

Explaining the symptoms of the problem, Microsoft states:

Updates may not succeed the installation and you may receive a 0x80073701 error

The installation of the updates may fail and the error message "Failed updates, some installation problems with some updates, but we try again later" or "Error 0x80073701" as a result of the error message. Windows Update dialogue or in Update the history.

The company goes on to say "we are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release", but that does not give any indication on the schedule.
