A newborn was found naked and abandoned in a wooded area, according to Maryland police, who says the baby only had a few hours when it was discovered.
The girl was found Friday at Silver Spring, Md., By a man who was passing by, heard what looked like a crying baby coming from the forest and went to investigate, Montgomery County police said.
"The baby may be Hispanic and, according to hospital medical staff, would have been born a few hours before being found," police said.
Police in Montgomery County, Maryland, announced the discovery on Friday of a newborn baby who had been abandoned in a wooded area only hours after his birth.

They said that she was in a stable state.
"We were very lucky that this man is walking on this sidewalk," said Sgt. Rebecca Innocenti, according to WJLA-TV.
A man who lives on the block where the baby was found told the station that he hoped his baby would survive and thrive.

"We are just happy for the child and we feel bad for the family or the person who felt they needed to do it," said David Devlin-Foltz.
