A 90-year-old man was arrested and charged with the murder of his 83-year-old wife, after investigators admitted to slaughtering her Saturday morning in South Carolina.
MPs responded to a house in Ridgeville at 5:20 pm, after the dispatch received a call from a man who said he had shot his wife, officials said. One possible motive was not clear.
The deputies placed Edwin Nelson, Jr. in custody for the murder of Sarah M. Nelson, WCSC reported.

According to the coroner of Dorchester County, Paul Brouthers, they found the wife on the floor, shot and wounded at the time of their arrival. She later died on the scene.
The suspect was scheduled to have a liaison hearing on Sunday. An autopsy of his wife's body was scheduled at the University of Medicine of South Carolina.
The offices of the Dorchester County Sheriff and the Dorchester County Coroner were investigating. The suspect was detained at the Knight Detention Center.
