One thing people knew was that Archie's education would be a little different from that of his cousins.

Markle and Prince Harry do things their way

From the moment the pregnancy was made public, it was clear that Markle and Prince Harry were going to chart their own path to parenthood. Early on, they announced they were not going to have their baby at Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital, where the rest of the royal family has been giving birth for decades. Having him begin his studies in the UK and then transfer him to Africa would disrupt his education considerably. The use of a guardian who can travel with the family would be a much more plausible option.
