President Donald Trump said Sunday that he was "very happy" with Vice President Mike Pence and planned to keep him as running for the vice presidency in the 2020 elections.
"I think Mike Pence has been an outstanding vice president," Trump told reporters in New Jersey shortly before boarding Air Force One. "I think that it has been amazing in terms of love that many people, especially if you look at the evangelicals and so many others, they really have a great respect for the vice president, and me too, and so on, I think most people. "
Trump also said that although other names were proposed to replace Pence on the ticket, he did not intend to abandon his vice president.

"A lot of people, surprisingly, they carry different names and have brought a lot of different names," Trump said. "That's the norm, by the way. This is the norm. Everyone thought that President Obama was going to change Biden. They thought the second term he was going to change that. Everyone thought so, but he did not do it. But no, I'm very happy with Mike Pence. "
As the incumbent president, Trump is likely to be the Republican presidential candidate in 2020. The Democrats are still fighting for the nomination of their party to challenge him.
A Fox News poll released last week, however, revealed that the next race would be a difficult battle for the president. The poll revealed that Trump was losing to a series of prominent Democrats, including former Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) And Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) , As well as Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Trump's disapproval ratings were also breaking records.
On Sunday, Trump told the press that he was "not happy" with the Fox News poll, saying he did not believe in the results.
"Fox has changed," said Trump. "My worst polls have always been Fox."
