The six games were played against the Tigers and Blue Jays, who are among the worst teams in the league. Nevertheless, winning on the road is an asset for a team that is currently 25-37 from home. The Mariners will now be looking to play the role of spoiler against a Tampa Bay team fighting for a playoff spot. The Mariners scored 20 points in their three-game series against the Tigers, while Rays scored just six points in three games against them. We'll see if they can be successful against a tough Tampa Bay pitcher team in this series.

In their last round, the Mariners lost 7-3 against the Blue Jays, but they bounced back with a 4-3 win on Saturday and 7-0 on Sunday. Yusei Kikuchi was horrible for much of the year for the Mariners, but he launched a full game Sunday. Kikuchi allowed only two hits and a walk while eliminating eight in action. Tampa is fighting with tigers

The Tampa Bay Rays currently hold the second slot in the AHL and were facing the Detroit Tigers at home, the worst team in the league. Tampa Bay won two of the three games, but it was far from easy. The Tigers won 2-0 in the first game of this series. Tampa then needed 13 innings to beat them 1-0 in the second game. The third match was also difficult, as the Rays won 5-4, but they had to rally to win the match. The Tigers had a 4-1 lead in eighth when Tampa scored two goals and two more at the end of 9th for a second consecutive victory. Ji-Man Choi won the match by winning the single single from two innings in the bottom of the ninth. Tommy Pham also had a good match with two hits and two runs produced. Jose Alvarado, who is now 1-5 with a 4.76 ERA, won. The Rays are not supposed to fight at home against the worst team in the league, but that is exactly what happened. The Rays have been very poor at home as they are 33-29 here, compared to 40-23 on the road. The Rays are currently 5th in the league in points differential at +102.
