Robert De Niro's company filed a $ 6 million lawsuit against a former employee, accusing her of embezzling money and watching Netflix during her work.
Canal Productions, the De Niro loan company, also accuses Chase Robinson of accumulating exorbitant expenses in hotels and restaurants and using millions of miles for frequent trips.
According to the lawsuit filed Saturday in a New York courthouse, Robinson had been hired as de Niro's assistant in 2008. She was later promoted to "vice president of production and finance" of the lending company 2019 the salary was $ 300,000. The company says that she rarely comes to the office and alleges that she spent "astronomical time" watching Netflix during working hours. She ordered a lunch at Caviar San Francisco and dined at Paola's Restaurant, charging both meals on the corporate card.
In March, in another four-day period, she reportedly watched 20 episodes of "Arrested Development" and 10 episodes of "Schitt's Creek".
"Watching shows on Netflix was in no way related to the duties and responsibilities of Robinson's job; she was sticking to her personal entertainment, her amusement and her pleasure at times when she was paid to work, "the suit alleges.
The lawsuit alleges that Robinson laid unauthorized charges of $ 12,696.65 to Paola over a two-year period, in addition to $ 8,923.20 for Dean and Deluca and Whole Foods, and $ 32,000 for Ubers and taxis.
In his resignation email in April, Robinson reportedly said "ridiculous" about his concerns about his expenses and other problems. She then wrote a letter of recommendation for herself, which De Niro refused to sign, says the lawsuit.
