The HBO Max Streamer has defined its pilot slate by placing pilot orders for three projects: a one-hour play. The rules of magic, by the writer Melissa Rosenberg (Marvel's Jessica Jones) drama drama of half an hour Generation, 17-year-old Zelda Barnz, her father Daniel Barnz and executive producer Lena Dunham; and dramatic time of an hour Red Bird Lane, by the writer Sara Gran (Southland) and executive produced by John Wells.

The director of Rosenberg produced through Tall Girls Productions, with Dana Baratta; both also serve as showrunners. The producer of the 1998 film, Denise Di Novi, and Nina Tassler are also the executive producers of PatMa Productions, alongside Hoffman.
Generation is created by Zelda Barnz, the daughter of Daniel and Ben Barnz, 17 years old.
