An American hiker with his fiancé on the Spanish island of Ibiza was killed when he fell off a cliff, diving more than 50 meters. Daniel Sirovich, 33, and Kristi Kelly were visiting last week near a cliff in the southwest of the island, in Sa Pedrera de Cala d'Hort, according to People. Sirovich was finishing a residency in Miami and was going to start a new job in Boston. His fiancee is studying to become a doctor's assistant, according to the New York Post. His mother said Staten Island Advance that they were going to a music festival in England, but were heading to Spain when the festival had rained.
Kelly's mother first said that Sirovich had slipped while trying to take a picture, but she has since retracted. The couple had planned to get married next year. "They studied together, they lived together, they traveled the world together and their goal was to heal people," she said, adding that her daughter was devastated. "It's a horrible end to a beautiful romance," she said. (Read more stories of American tourists killed.)
