Dixon said that after six months of chemotherapy, Kylee could no longer watch her daughter suffer.

"The best way I can describe, it's as if my child was under a death sentence," said Dixon, according to KGW8. "Every time, you literally feel your child's life getting lost."

But the state intervened. In March, the Clackamas County Juvenile Court filed a dependency petition alleging that Dixon's decision was negligent and "created a risk of harm to the child".

In June, a "pick-up" order was filed for Kylee to be placed in state custody.

On June 10, a sheriff's office in Oregon posted a poster for Kylee that he was in danger of, indicating that the mother was unaware of the need for Kylee's medical treatment, reported KGW8. Three days later, the police found the two men in Nevada and placed Kylee in custody.

Some Oregon residents are lining up on the mother's side, holding rallies in Portland and Salem and calling for the state's decision to remove Kylee from "kidnapping for medical reasons."

Kylee herself recorded an emotional video on YouTube asking for help in her quest for alternative medicine instead of chemotherapy, entitled "I'm on death row for surviving cancer."

In July, in the end, a judge ruled that it was the state, not Dixon, that would make medical decisions for Kylee.

"I'm going to let the surgeons do what they have to do," Heather Karabeika, a judge at the Clackamas County District Court, said at the time. And last week, Dixon turned into a police force. She faces charges of criminal mistreatment and detention interference.
