INDIANAPOLIS – Colts Andrew Luck 's quarterback chances of playing in the first week' s game against the Los Angeles Chargers dropped further when coach Frank Reich announced on Tuesday that he 's not sure he' s going to win. would not lead this week.

"Really no other updates, all we have at the moment is a combination of maximum speed and pain threshold," said Reich.

There seemed to be hope that Luck was about to return to the practice area last weekend. The video posted by ESPN shows the quarterback doing footwork exercises and going from one side to the other before attempting a pass before the Colts' opener against Cleveland. On August 13, Colts general manager Chris Ballard said Luck was struggling to move from side to side because of the pain in his left ankle.

Luck has only been practiced three times – none as a full participant – since April because of what was initially diagnosed as a calf injury. The team then said that he was also suffering from pain in the upper ankle area.

Luck will only have two weeks of training if he plays in the match of week 1 against the Chargers. He worked with throws coach Tom House and participated in team meetings and guided tours throughout his rehab.

Jacoby Brissett will continue to be the starting quarterback of the Colts if Luck, who has missed 26 games since 2015, is absent. Brissett earned 8 of 10 points for 100 yards and a touchdown against the Browns last weekend.
