Police from the Louisiana State University announced Tuesday the presence of an armed intruder on campus.
According to the university, no shots were fired.
The university tweeted the police report from the intruder to Coates Hall at 4 pm. The university confirmed that it was continuing at 4:30 pm, refuting a local report claiming the situation was under control
"The situation is ongoing, keep avoiding the area or stay in a safe place.We will publish as soon as we have more information," tweeted LSU from his official account.
University police urge people on campus to run and run away from danger. If this is not the case, university officials tell people in the region to hide or fight as a "last resort."
Run: Leave the area and move away from danger.
Hide: If escape is not possible, find a safe area to hide.
