A man suspected of threatening to kill an unknown person from Florida and his family and exterminating all Hispanics was arrested, according to a copy of a criminal complaint filed Monday in federal court.
According to the complaint, the person threatened, identified in court documents by the IC, received online messages over several months, from the end of May to the first half of August. C.I., originally from Spain and residing in Miami-Dade County, brought these messages to the attention of the Miami Police Department, who then informed the FBI.
The posts contained a pair of complimentary comments about President Donald Trump, invoking him in genocidal language.
The FBI's special agent, Matthew Jones, said he had brought the IC to review the messages, which had more than 150 pages after being printed, and found that they contained threats Violent murder, CI, called for the "extermination" of all Hispanics and other minority groups and contained favorable comments about Hitler.
Eric Lin, whom the federal government has designated as a suspect, has been arrested in the state of Washington and is expected to remain there during preliminary hearings of the case before a possible trial, which could be held in Florida.
Representatives of US Attorney's Offices in Washington and Florida Refused Comment Newsweek on the place where the business would possibly take place.
A user name associated with Lin who is connected to online threats starts "Eric.a.lin", but the rest of the name is redacted in court documents.
CI She claimed to have received a direct message on Facebook on May 30 via a separate account related to the case, which contained a picture of what the FBI believed to be Lin "dressed in a red shirt with a" "Hitler photography filter superimposed on Lin's face."
Lin is thought to be a regular at the Miami-Dade County restaurant, where C.I. works.
In June, the same account was told to C.I. that he was going to "enslave" them and "rape them" by saying, "You are worth less than a rabid dog".
A substantial part of the messages included in the court's statements contained macabre racial insults and more extreme threats than the language cited in this paper.
"It's a race war and you will die ALL," said a message.
Another threatened to eliminate the entire breed of C.I. "in 3 short years".
The following month, C.I reported that she had started receiving messages from the partially expurgated user name containing Lin's full name.
"By the Authority of ADOLF HITLER AND GOD, I DECLARE BY THE PRESENT SPANISH AND ALL THE SPANISH PEOPLE SPOKING ILLEGAL", confides this story to him. "I AM ONLY ADOLF HITLER AND GOD.THE IS ONE."
Other messages sent from both accounts made specific reference to Trump, greeting him as "our great president" and stating, "I thank God, the everyday president, Donald John Trump, is president and that's what we're talking about. he will launch a racial war and a crusade "whites, using multiple epithets to describe African Americans, Hispanics and Muslims".
According to Jones, the FBI obtained a search warrant for Facebook to access both accounts, discovering that the account containing Lin's name was sending a message to another user and offered to pay him to go to Miami. and attack CI's colleague or kidnap CI
"The plan is that you and Mara convince her that you are rich, white Americans, people she admires," the solicitation said. "And then take her to a rented house or a mansion, then chase her and put her in a plastic tub made of rubber."
The FBI reviewed a phone number used to check both Facebook accounts and discovered that it was registered with AT & T at the same address as that shown on Lin's driver's license.
Lin has reportedly telephoned the FBI's National Tactical Operations Center twice in June to file a complaint. Both calls were made from the cell phone linked to Facebook accounts.
A detention hearing for Lin is scheduled in Washington State next week.
