FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced the release of Ryan Allen. Allen was re-signed by the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent on March 22, 2019.
Allen, 29, originally signed with New England as a free Louisiana Tech freestyle player on May 3, 2013. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound player played 96 games in the regular season over six seasons with the Patriots. strikes for an average of 45.3 yards with 34 touchdowns and 153 kills shot inside the opposing 20-yard line. Allen has also played in 16 career playoff games and has scored 58 times for an average of 42.9 yards with five touchdowns and 25 shots on the inside of the 20 yard line.
Last season, Allen played all 16 games in the regular season and finished seventh in the NFL with an average of 45.1 yards. He also played in all three playoff games, including five throws for an average of 43.0 yards, including three in the 20-yard line in the Super Bowl LIII win over the Los Angeles Rams.
