One of Google's most hidden email "clients" is the one integrated with YouTube. The feature was tested for the first time as privately shared videos in May 2016, but it took more than a year to be available to everyone. It was later renamed Messages and grouped with notifications in the YouTube Activity tab. He remained mobile only until 2018, when he started appearing on the Web. Now, the feature film has been officially put on vital support and will be declared dead on September 18th.

YouTube made the announcement yesterday, saying it decided to focus on its public conversations (comments, posts, stories) rather than on private messages. Of course, some users express their dissatisfaction and the support thread contains over 400 angry comments. It will probably not change much.

If your discussions on YouTube are important to you, you can go to this address to save your conversations. And get ready for the film to disappear completely on September 18th, even if some of its aspects may disappear before. Once it's gone, you'll still be able to share video links, but you'll have to choose another social network or email application to send them.

I can not say that I will miss many YouTube posts. I used it a bit early, but with time I went back to sharing video links with my contacts on WhatsApp. It made more sense to keep all my conversation with them in one application, instead of spreading it everywhere.
