Google plans to track the release of Google Home Mini 2017 with a second generation Nest Mini, a reliable source said 9to5Google. Another interesting addition to the second generation of Nest Mini is a 3.5mm stereo jack. While the port has quickly disappeared from smartphones, the Nest Mini will now be aligned with Amazon Echo Dot, which offers an auxiliary socket since its first generation. It is unclear if this will be used for audio input, output to external speakers (a de facto Chromecast Audio replacement), or both.

Finally, we are told that the device will have a kind of proximity awareness.
