Yankees vs. A: Oakland wants to continue to dominate left-handed

OAKLAND – The A are looking to continue their win against left-handed pitchers against the Yankees Southpaw J.A. It's Wednesday night at the Coliseum.

The Green and Gold are 21-10 against left-handed this season with a .820 OPS, currently the best brand in the history of Oakland. A manager, Bob Melvin, loaded his right-handed sticks, with only Matt Olson turning to the left.

Chad Pinder, Jurickson Profar and Josh Phegley return to training to give Oakland three more right-handers. Pinder beats fifth, with Profar and Phegley hitting eight and ninth, respectively.

Happ struggled this season for New York, scoring 10-7 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 24 starts. The 36-year-old's success against Oakland was however a success with a 4-1 record with a points average of 3.47 in 11 outings, including nine starts.

The A go against right-hander Mike Fiers. The 34-year-old is 11-3 with a 3.46 ERA and 1.11 WHIP on 26 starts this year, winning his last nine decisions. In six career starts against the Yankees, Fiers is 2-1 with a 5.06 ERA.
