Charlie Puth reinvents himself (again) on "I warned myself"

The video of Charlie Puth's attention

Love goes very badly in the music video "Attention" Charlie Puth.

He is back! Charlie Puth returns to the music scene with "I Warned Myself", his first single in 2019, and I guess this is the first preview of his third album. And that's another change of pace. The smooth synths and the big hooks of "Attention" and "How Long" leave room for something more edgy and minimal. That's not to say that the 27-year-old has lost his talent for writing a catchy chorus. "I Warned Myself" is one of those songs that make their way under the skin a little deeper with each listening.

"I thought I should not play with fire, but I can say I'll do it again," sings Charlie in his falsetto Benny Blanco disturbing production. "Do not trust me, it's not good for my health," he laments. "You're breaking my heart, now you're the reason." He has certainly come a long way since "Marvin Gaye." Moral affair that culminates when Charlie surfs on the roof of his Jaguar (moving).
