"He will be held responsible"

An Ohio attorney announced that a Cleveland police officer was facing numerous criminal charges after being filmed himself urinating on a 12-year-old girl.

Solomon Nhiwatiwa, 34, was charged this week by a grand jury for attempted kidnapping and multiple sexual offenses related to an incident that allegedly occurred around 7 pm last Friday in Euclid's town. He is accused of targeting a child who was waiting for a school bus.

According to the prosecutors, Nhiwatiwa, who was not on duty at the time, drove the victim with the car window down and asked if she wanted to go to school, what would be the problem? She refused.

The suspect left but returned a minute later. The authorities claim that he approached the girl after parking her car, exposed her genitals and "started to urinate on the victim while it seemed that he was filming himself with his mobile phone ". He then returned to his car and left the premises.

Nhiwatiwa went to Euclid's police yesterday and was transported to the city jail. He is expected to be brought to trial Monday at 8:30 am at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center, according to the detainee's file. The lawsuit was announced yesterday by Attorney Michael O Malley.

"These actions are impossible to understand," said O Malley in a statement posted on social networks. "My office will ensure that he never holds the position of police officer again." The County Attorney General promised Cleveland.com: "He will be held responsible."

Local media reported that Nhiwatiwa had been suspended without pay from his post since 2014. According to Fox 8, he was reportedly assigned to the third district.

The mother of the victim reported the attack to the police at Euclid, who were able to link Nhiwatiwa to previous reports that a man had acted "strangely" in the city.

It appeared that one resident had noted the registration plate number of the Nhiwatiwa blue sport utility vehicle about an hour before the alleged attack on the girl, who was not named. Euclid resident told the police that Nhiwatiwa had been watching in people's cars. "It's just a nasty individual, who works as a policeman," noted O Malley, reported Fox 8.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, the suspect is now the subject of eight separate charges: attempted abduction for sexual motives, implied obscenity involving a minor, public indecency, broadcast detrimental material for minors, endangering children, incitement to crime, assault and attempted interference in police custody.
