CHICAGO (Reuters) – The US Federal Aviation Administration announced on Thursday that it has invited a representative group of world airline operators operating the Boeing Co 737 MAX to participate in simulator trials as part of a overall process of testing and validating new MAX procedures.

In a statement, the agency says it did not specify a specific schedule for testing nor the number of flight experience hours required beyond asking the crew have prior experience with the Boeing 737 MAX controls.

The MAX was anchored around the world in March following two fatal accidents.
