In a statement, the New York police said the body of the 33-year-old man was found in a Queens building and the cause of death was still under investigation.
Zamperoni was the chef of Cipriani Dolci restaurant, a renowned Venetian restaurant located inside the Grand Central Terminal in New York.
Stefania Girombelli, spokesperson for Cipriani Dolci, confirmed the death of Zamperoni.
"Andrea was a responsible, generous, kind and hard-working person who will be sorely missed by everyone," reads the statement. "His brother is overwhelmed with sorrow and regrets that he is not available to comment."
The NYPD continues to investigate the incident.
